The 36-year-old pop superstar recently celebrated another major career milestone after becoming the most-awarded artist in MTV VMAs history. But while her achievements continue to pile up, some longtime fans say they are no longer connecting with her music or the image she has built around her relationship with Travis Kelce.

Her latest four-track addition to The Life of a Showgirl has received mixed reactions, with critics particularly taking aim at songs like “Cleveland!”, which is reportedly about Kelce.

Some fans have even compared the new music unfavorably with the emotional songwriting from her earlier years, when her relationships, heartbreaks and personal experiences provided much of the inspiration for her biggest songs.

And then there is the wedding.

Swift and Kelce reportedly got married on July 3 in a massive celebrity-filled celebration, but the couple has yet to publicly release official wedding photos. That decision has frustrated some fans who had expected to see at least a glimpse of the highly anticipated fairytale moment.

Others have also criticized the singer’s business strategy, pointing to the numerous album variants released for The Life of a Showgirl and previous projects. Some fans feel the heavy commercialization has taken attention away from the music itself.

Of course, Taylor Swift is still one of the biggest stars on the planet. Her records, awards and sales numbers remain enormous, and millions of fans continue to support everything she does.
