CELEBRITYBREAKING: Jennifer Lopez Is Engaged Again… and Her New Fiancé Is a Total Curveball! JLo’s Surprise Proposal Goes Viral—Fans Can’t Handle Who She’s Marrying Now and you better sit down, because you might recognize him!Published 3 weeks ago on May 21, 2026By Maisie Carter
In a whirlwind 48 hours that has sent the internet into meltdown, Jennifer Lopez, 56, is engaged once again. The pop superstar and actress confirmed the news herself on Instagram late Wednesday night with a simple photo of a stunning diamond ring and the caption “Yes ❤️ Forever starts now.”
What has fans losing their minds is the identity of the groom-to-be: **none other than her longtime backup dancer and creative collaborator, David Rodriguez**.
Yes, *that* David Rodriguez—the same talented performer who has been by JLo’s side on stage for over a decade, appearing in her tours, residencies, and music videos, but rarely stepping into the spotlight himself.
The couple reportedly kept their romance tightly under wraps for nearly two years after Lopez’s high-profile split from Ben Affleck. Sources close to the pair say the proposal happened during an intimate gathering at Lopez’s Los Angeles home, where Rodriguez got down on one knee in front of her closest friends and children.
“David has always been her rock—steady, loyal, and someone who truly understands her world,” a friend told reporters. “This isn’t about fame for him. He’s the real deal.”
Social media exploded within minutes. #JLoEngaged trended worldwide, with reactions ranging from shock (“Wait… DANCE DAVID?!”) to overwhelming support (“Finally someone who actually knows her!”). Some fans called it “the most JLo plot twist ever,” while others admitted they “never saw this coming.”
Lopez has not yet shared more details about wedding plans, but insiders hint at a low-key ceremony possibly taking place later this year.
After a string of very public relationships, Jennifer Lopez appears to have found love where she least expected it—right in front of her all along. Fans are already calling it her most authentic chapter yet.
Congratulations are pouring in from across Hollywood. Stay tuned as this story develops.
