Taylor Swift responds to criticism defend Boyfriend Travis Kelce : I have no 'awareness' of screen time

Taylor Swift responded to criticism both she and the NFL have received from fans as she continues to be featured on-screen for lengthy periods of time during Travis Kelce’s games.

“I don’t know how they know what suite I’m in,” Swift said in an interview after being named Time’s Person of the Year, which was released on Wednesday.

“There’s a camera, like, a half-mile away, and you don’t know where it is, and you have no idea when the camera is putting you in the broadcast, so I don’t know if I’m being shown 17 times or once,” she told the outlet.

The “Blank Space” singer emphasized that she’s “just there to support Travis” and his team, the Kansas City Chiefs.

“I have no awareness of if I’m being shown too much and pissing off a few dads, Brads, and Chads,” she teased.

Swift has been attending Kelce’s games on-and-off since she went to Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Mo., on Sept. 24.

Since then, the cameras have frequently panned to Swift, 34, cheering, talking with Kelce’s parents and even showing off a handshake with fellow Chiefs wife Brittany Mahomes.

The NFL has also not shied away from making cheeky puns both during the broadcast and on social media.

“Football is awesome, it turns out,” Swift told TIME. “I’ve been missing out my whole life.”

The Grammy winner broke her silence on several topics for her Person of the Year interview, since it was her first candid chat in nearly four years.

Swift took the opportunity to gush over her romance with Kelce and gave a rundown of their relationship timeline to clarify they got to know each other privately before she attended his first game in September.

The “Cruel Summer” singer confirmed that she and her NFL boyfriend, 33, began hanging out “right after” Kelce “adorably put me on blast on his podcast” where he fessed up his love for her in July.

“So we actually had a significant amount of time that no one knew, which I’m grateful for, because we got to get to know each other. By the time I went to that first game, we were a couple. I think some people think that they saw our first date at that game? We would never be psychotic enough to hard launch a first date,” she spilled.

Swift teased that she’ll continue to “see him do what he loves,” and they’re both “showing up for each other.”

In addition to Swift attending his football games, Kelce has also shown up for her Eras Tour and recently flew down to Argentina to sing along with her fans.

“We’re just proud of each other,” she raved.

Kelce echoed a similar sentiment in a profile with the WSJ magazine last month but also shared that his chances seemed to increase after Swift saw her little cousins taking photos in front of his locker when she performed at Arrowhead in July.
