Queen Camilla set to ‘get her own back’ on Meghan and Harry with the ‘perfect revenge’

Queen Camilla is set to “get her own back” on Meghan Markle and Prince Harry with the “perfect revenge”, a commentator has claimed.

The Queen, 76, launched The Reading Room podcast today, which will complement her successful online book club.

The podcast release could upset Prince Harry, 39, and Meghan Markle, 42, according to a commentator.

King Charles’s wife was described as a “villain” and “dangerous” by the Duke of Sussex in his memoir Spare.

Camilla kept her silence following the attack, but one commentator says she subtly “got her own back” by allowing her podcast to flourish.

Denise Palmer Davies, the director of Borne Media, said: “After all the hurtful things Harry has said about Camilla, she has finally got her own back on them.

“If her podcast does well, and I am sure it will, she will have achieved in an area they so desperately wanted to succeed in, then that is the perfect revenge.

“I bet Meghan, in particular, will be livid over the whole thing, and probably a bit embarrassed that hers fell at the first hurdle.”

Camilla is the host of the podcast, which will feature guests like Joanna Lumley, Ian Rankin, David Baddiel and Elif Shafak.

Her online book club was set up during lockdown to popular reviews.

The Queen shared some of the titles she read during the pandemic through this outlet.

The club’s Instagram page now boasts over 168,000 followers.

Royal commentator Jennie Bond also told The Sun: “We have learned in the past couple of years that reading has been a passion for Camilla since her childhood and this is a way of sharing that love.

“In a hectic world so dominated by short-form social media messages – and giving us attention spans of a gnat – it is a noble aim to encourage children and adults to enjoy a good, long read.”

She added: “That’s what this is about, not money, not campaigning or railing against the world, just a gentle encouragement to enjoy great storytelling.”
