Taylor Swift is expected to attend the Kansas City Chiefs clash with the Los Angeles Chargers this Sunday, September 29 just one week after fans questioned her absense at the Mercedes Benz Stadium as Travis Kelce struggled.
The tight end made just four receptions for 30 yards and no touchdowns in the Week 3 clash with the Atlanta Falcons and was not a preferred target as his horrific start to the 2024/25 NFL season continues.
And it seems as though it could be taking a toll on him, despite his side winning 22-17, as he looked disconsolate on the sidelines after struggling to get involved in the game due to being heavily targeted by rival defenses.
Normally Swift would be there to cheer him on and to help lift his spirits but her iconic red lipstick and blonde hair was nowhere to be spotted in Georgia as she hung out with friends ahead of the resumption of her Eras Tour on October 18.
“Going to the game in Atlanta wasn’t possible because she had scheduled time with some friends, like Gigi Hadid,” an insider told the US Sun. “Whom she spent time with on the weekend, and other friends that she hasn’t seen in a while.
“She wanted to hang out with them before returning to the tour soon. But she plans to return to the next game to support Travis. They talked on the phone before the game and after the game, too. She wanted to congratulate him on the win!”
What time is the Kansas City Chiefs vs. the Los Angeles Chargers?
But fans should fear not, The Tortured Poets Department’s creator will be at the SoFi Stadium for the Week 4 clash with the Chargers meaning Swifties will get a fresh fix of the 34-year-old American power couple.
The Kansas City Chiefs clash with the Los Angeles Chargers this Sunday, September 29 at 16:25 ET/13:25 PT at the SoFi Stadium as Kelce looks to produce his first break-out game live on CBS Sports.
Kelce, a three-time Super Bowl champion, has made eight receptions from 12 Patrick Mahomes targets for 69 yards but zero touchdowns in the 2024/25 NFL season, his worst start to a campaign on record.
Has Travis Kelce’s performance dropped since dating Taylor Swift?
According to The Sporting News, during the 2013-2022 seasons, Kelce played in 144 games where he was targeted 1,146 times for 814 receptions, 10,344 receiving yards, and 69 touchdowns. This breaks down to an average of 8.0 targets, 5.65 receptions, 71.83 receiving yards, and 0.48 touchdowns per game.
Meanwhile, from 2023 to 2024, he played 18 games with 133 receiving attempts, 101 passes caught, 1,053 receiving yards, and 5 touchdowns, averaging 7.4 targets, 5.6 receptions, 58.5 receiving yards, and 0.28 touchdowns per game.
While there has been a slight regression in Kelce’s performance over the past two years, this could be attributed to several factors, including age and a natural evolution of his career, rather than just his relationship with Swift.
