CELEBRITY
Serena Williams is causing a stir once again, but this time, it’s all about her body transformation! The tennis legend revealed her stunning new look on Instagram, showing off her slimmed-down physique after a weight loss drug controversy. The internet exploded, with fans praising her confidence—but others aren’t so forgiving. What’s behind this dramatic change, and why are people so divided?
But the post comes just months after Serena sparked major controversy for admitting she used a weight loss drug to shed pounds.
The Zepbound Reveal
Last summer, Serena revealed that she lost a staggering 31 pounds with the help of Zepbound, a GLP-1 medication similar to Ozempic and Wegovy. These drugs were originally created for diabetes and obesity, but have exploded in popularity among celebrities for rapid weight loss.
While many fans praised her honesty, others weren’t so supportive.
Critics accused Serena of:
promoting unrealistic beauty standards
encouraging drug-based weight loss
and setting a dangerous example for women
Some even questioned why one of the most athletic women in history felt the need to use medication at all.
Serena Responds With Confidence
Instead of addressing the backlash directly, Serena seems to be letting her confidence do the talking.
In the new video, she looks noticeably leaner, with a flatter stomach, slimmer arms, and a much smaller frame than fans are used to seeing. The post felt intentionally casual — no glam, no filters, no editing — just Serena in real life.
And judging by her body language, she’s clearly comfortable in her skin.
