Dakota Johnson and Taylor Swift Convinced Me to Swap My Blue Jeans for This Retro Fall Pants Trend — from $19
Once cooler weather rolls around, I wear jeans on a near-daily basis, but Dakota Johnson is making me reconsider my go-to fall outfits.
The Verity star recently ditched denim for corduroy pants in a look that’s equal parts comfy and put together. She’s not the only A-lister putting jeans on hold this season, either. Taylor Swift wore the retro pants out for date night, while Gigi Hadid gave them a casual spin with a striped T-shirt. With their soft texture and styling potential, I’m shopping corduroy pants for myself. Ahead, I rounded up celebrity-inspired styles on Amazon I’m eyeing for my fall wardrobe, all for $60 or less.
Johnson opted for a baggy silhouette in her corduroy pants, but they were far from frumpy. The chocolate brown color and not-too-wide fit kept her looking refined. While I can’t say for sure where she scored her pants, I found a super similar pair on Amazon. They match in color and shape, but they have front patch pockets for an eye-catching detail. I’m copying Johnson and pairing them with a gray T-shirt for an unexpected fall color combination.
I wouldn’t think corduroy pants work for date night, but Taylor Swift proved me wrong. She wore a baggy pair for a laid-back look, and I found a matching pair from Amazon. They’re a similar length, hitting just at the ankle to show off a cute pair of shoes (in Swift’s case, burgundy loafers), and they have an elastic waistband for added comfort. Complete the autumnal color palette with an olive green top, and you’ve got an easy fall ensemble fit for a popstar.
Gigi Hadid is one of my style muses, so I quickly ran to Amazon for a budget-friendly match after spotting her in slim corduroy pants. I landed on this Gloria Vanderbilt style, and they’ve since become one of the most comfortable pairs of pants I own. For starters, they’re incredibly stretchy and soft. I can sit in them all day long without feeling restricted. The length fits just right on my 5-foot-4 frame, and I love their in-between straight-leg silhouette. I’ve worn them with loafers like Hadid, but they would also pair well with sneakers and ankle boots.
Plenty of other celebrities have recently tapped into this fall trend, too. I found more corduroy pants inspired by stars like Kate Hudson, Chloë Sevigny, and Bella Hadid on Amazon starting from $19.
